How We Met - Roxanne's Version
Andy and I met for the first time during a graduate student government meeting. I remember thinking how very shy he was (he barely spoke to me that night).  We ended up working together through that organization and Andy slowly began to talk to me.  However, even though I was throwing hints left and right, he never seemed to notice that I liked him.  I finally just asked him to the movies one day, and we've been together since.

How We Met - Andy's Version
I went to the Graduate Student Senate meeting hoping to meet hot women.  Roxanne was the only one so I decided to run for legislative chair so I could work my game.  It went perfectly and I knew I'd win her over and convince her to drop that Italian dud she was dating.  It was simply a matter of time.

When We Got Engaged
March 18, 2003

How It Happened
After asking Roxanne's father for her hand on Thursday morning, I intended to ask her that night.  Unfortunately, she was overwhelmed with work and couldn't meet for dinner.  Then we were hoping to go to NYC that weekend, but Roxanne couldn't make the trip.  Needless to say, the ring was burning a hole in my pocket as I was with my friends in New York.  I next plotted to ask her Sunday night when I returned, but a friend's truck getting towed slammed the brakes on that scheme.  Monday's effort at engagement was thwarted by Roxanne's small bladder, and Tuesday's original plan went awry by Roxanne falling asleep in my car.  Thinking quickly, I drove to a park nearby Roxanne's house where there is a beautiful tower on top of a hill that overlooks the city. I had spoken several times about visiting this tower, so Roxanne did not suspect a thing.  After five days--and 26 years--I finally got the woman to say yes.
